Drop rod

Purpose:
It is designed to secure one side of a double gate by dropping the rod into the ground or a gate keeper, stabilizing and holding the gate leaf in position when closed or open.

Structure:

A long vertical rod made of metal (often galvanized or powder-coated steel).

A handle at the top, bent at 90°, for easy gripping and operation.

Guide brackets along the length, which attach to the gate frame and keep the rod aligned.

The bottom end drops into a hole in the ground or a keeper device embedded in concrete or attached to the surface.
